Mobile collection management, directly on site
Collection Mobile is a mobile application for the physical management of museum collections. With the app, staff can register, move, and inspect objects – directly on site, using a smartphone or tablet.
The app is available for iOS and Android and integrates seamlessly with Collection Publisher and Collection Manager, but can also be connected to other collection management systems.
What can you do with the app?
Collection Mobile supports day-to-day collection management tasks, without detours via paper or separate spreadsheets.
- Search for and view objects, including metadata and images
- Consult location information
- Move and register objects
- Create condition reports
- Add remarks and notes
- Work on location (storage, gallery, conservation studio)
The interface is designed for practical use: clear, fast, and suitable for use while working.
Working online and offline
Collection Mobile is designed for use in locations where network connectivity is not always available, such as storage facilities, basements, or temporary storage areas.
While offline, the following items can be recorded on the device:
- Object movements
- Notes and remarks
- Photos linked to objects or condition reports
As soon as the device reconnects to the network, the recorded data is automatically and securely synchronized with the connected collection management system. This ensures that the central administration remains up to date, without requiring staff to change their workflow.
